Named Cow Produces More Milk

An interesting research on relationship between man and animal has been published in the recent issue of Anthrozoos magazine, a friend of mine in London kindly told me. It essentially says that cow produces more milk when treated huamanely and with respect.

BBC report on this is:

hi Masanobu
what a great article!
and it so much makes sense, if we all be gentle to all living beings, surely we all would be more happily productive, huh?
I am really glad that scientist are giving importance to the respect and care that our friend animals deserve!

Berenice,

I admire your attitude to the animals around. Many people tend to attach themselves too much to their pet animals. But attachment sometimes brings suffering on the both sides.

Yes, I saw this article, it is wonderful how animals respond to our kindness. Apparently with plants it's the same thing.

Regarding attachment to pets, it is interesting how Seicho-No-Ie has transformed me, and I would like to tell you about it. I have a lovely, sweet cat that I had to leave in Brazil when I moved to London 6.5 years ago. Even though it's a cat, I used to miss him so much! I say that because cats are very independent and it's usually easier to part with them than with dogs. But with Seicho-No-Ie I have become less and less depending on pets. When I see an animal I am filled with joy and I want to give them my love! But I am not unhappy without one, because I am a child of God and I am complete. This is a wonderful teaching indeed!
Thank you very much!

Madeleine,

Thanks for your comment.
So, you don't have any pet in London now?

Sorry for the delay in responding, dear Masanobu.
No, I don't have a pet in London. No room at the moment! Maybe in the future. What about you, do you have a pet?

Madeleine,

I have stray cats all over in my garden!! No, they are not my pets but God's. Well, I used to have Java sparrows. I took pains to protect them from the cats.

hi again dear Masanobu and Madeleine

i have the same 'problem' as you do with some stray cats, these 2 lovely cats here
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mfq83D5U-UY/SZIKsgWWP5I/AAAAAAAABvA/X0r8k8Iia-w/s1600-h/gatos_blog_outside.jpg

arrived to my home in San Diego, since i am allergic to cats i don't let them in my home at the 1st place, and the beginning my neighbor was feeding them every day but he was not careful to feed them all the time and i started feeding them more often... just as Madeleine did before with her cat, i got more & more involved! then one of the got sick and took him to the vet and had to feed him antibiotics so i allow it to come inside my home for a bit...

now everyday they are more attached to me!! and i wish they go and visit my neighbor more 'cause he can let them sleep inside his home without getting sick... but my heart is very weak and every time i see them seated outside and it's cold i let them in a little in my house

even if the cats are cool and distract me sometimes, it has become an 'stressful' situation 'cause they are all the time outside my home trying to come in! and they ignore my neighbor now, they just follow me!! and i wish they didn't

i know if stop feeding them they'll go away but also i have no heart to leave them hungry for too long!! it has become a vicious circle... so for me it's very good to read about tolerance and distance with animals 'cause i have to learn NOT to let these cats rule my life!! pets are great company but they come with lots of responsibilities too!

i am glad i can share these thoughts with you both since you care for cats and animals too!

Madeleine, if you ever want a cat again, i can send you one of these two heh heh heh, they are really cute :) and have great cat-onalities (as cat personalities)

take care!

Berenice,

Why don't you think like this:
"Cats are like them because they have survived till this day by being likable to humans. Don't be fooled by their strategy." This might detach you from them a little bit.
