Dejima, a small island in Nagasaki, was Japan's only contact with the outer world during Edo period. The Dutch enjoyed benefits from the trade.

The colors of leaves of cherry trees are among the best in autumn.

I am always fascinated by the colors and shapes of wagashi (Japanese sweets). The one on the right is wrapped in a bamboo leaf.

Doll Troops

The roly-poly doll is about 5 cm tall.

Fake and Real

I made the small pumpkin out of clay. The green eggplant is called "shiro'nasu"(white eggplant).

I saw these cakes at Hotel Seiyo Ginza in Tokyo.

Back In Tokyo

My wife and I have arrived in Tokyo safely, with a bit of jet lag. Thank you for all who helped and participated in the Brazilian events and others. I have also posted a photo album on New York City, where I stayed a few days before going back to Japan.
